Meet the Visionary: Wanda Salaman
Wanda Salaman is the founder of CannaBronx LLC, a Bronx-based, Black-owned cannabis venture advancing ownership and economic justice. Through the CannaBronx Collective, in conjunction with CannaBronx LLC, she advances cooperative ownership, workforce pathways, and neighborhood reinvestment through a reparations lens.
A Bronx-raised Afro-Boricua entrepreneur and organizer with more than 30 years of experience, Wanda brings a deep commitment to economic justice shaped by decades of grassroots leadership. She has served as Executive Director of Mothers on the Move since 2002, where she has built resident-led campaigns across housing, education, environmental justice, and youth leadership in the South Bronx.
Wanda’s organizing began in her teens, mobilizing neighbors to reclaim abandoned spaces and create opportunities for girls and young people. That early work continues to guide her approach today—building durable models of Black leadership and shared economic power.
